Rent is high, new property is empty, can’t afford a home, a great investment opportunity, up and coming area, luxury flats, affordable homes for sale, vibrant, the city’s exciting new residential address, high-spec finish, property ladder, 30 percent share of a one bedroom flat, flipping, help to buy, save for a deposit, the bank of mum and dad, room in a house share, what can we do?

'An Invitation to Replace Estate Agent Signs with Art' was a workshop which is took place as part of Antiuniversity Now festival. The workshop involved making artworks to cover up estate agent signs, emphasising the importance of home rather than its monetary value.

The workshop itself is an exploration of 'home' through a discussion of what home represents and what it means. I encourage to look closely at the shapes of architecture, daily routines, social connections, food, plants and other elements that make up a home. The aim of the workshop is to create artwork to highlight the importance of home, and to show its inherent value over the monetary investment value. It is also an invitation for everyone who believes that everyone deserves a home to engage with this kind of activism.
